Banting and Best discovered insulin in 1921 Pancreas
Fredrick Grant Banting along with his partner Charles Best discovered insulin, the drug that would treat the killer disease, Diabetes. They worked long and hard studying the pancreas and was forced to work in someone else's laboratory. James Collip later joined the group. Consequently, their effort was worth it because insulin was made. All three men went on to pursue a successful career in medicine. Banting was killed in a plane crash while on a military mission in Newfoundland during World War II.
