Causes of obesity
 |
Obesity is now recognized by WHO as a disease. |
Why
obesity occurs.
 |
Due to mismatch between calories consumed and calories spent. These extra
calories are deposited as fat in and around muscles, tissues; underneath the
skin, inside the blood vessels in various parts of body, especially in
abdominal ,hip and back areas. |
Causes
of obesity
High
calorie fatty food intake.
Lack of exercise (sedentary life style).
Genetic factors. (familial).
Hormonal problem. (e.g.Thyroid under activity)

High calorie fatty food
Lack of exercise
Role of deranged appetite control system.
 |
It has been recently discovered that certain areas of the brain actually
control a person's appetite and satiety (satisfaction of eating). These
areas do not function properly without sufficient muscle exercise. At very
low levels of activity, appetite does not decline sufficiently and you tend
to consume more calories than you burn. |
 |
When the body's muscular system is being exercised properly, the brain
regulates your intake of food in a balanced manner, so that your body
consumes just the right amount of calories. |
